The Full Story
My name is Shriya, and I’m an artist based in Connecticut who has a deep passion for creating. While Twisted Stitches may have started with only crocheted textile pieces, gradually, I will continue to add works from all mediums. I plan on expanding my shop, by including knitted pieces. Twisted Stitches was created to mainly inspire others who have the desire to create their own work, whether that be textile pieces that revolve around fashion, art, or simply their own small businesses, Twisted Stitches is here to show that it's possible to create and be open to others who are willing to learn as well. Due to this, Twisted Stitches contains free tutorials and patterns (coming soon) for those who prefer written instructions.
Fundraising
I’ve been crocheting for four years. During that time, I’ve hosted crocheting classes, published pattern books, and donated crocheted blankets to hospitals and shelters. I recently lost my grandfather to an idiopathic disease known as Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis(IPF). Since funding for this disease is heavily lacking, due to its rarity, I plan on contributing to the effort by donating the profits from Twisted Stitches to Lung for Life Inc, a non-profit organization that I started that aims to raise money for IPF patient relief and IPF research. Anything helps!
